Planet Beauty Raises Funds For Cure

Planet beauty in Newport Beach raised at orange county beauty night for its local affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the cure. They raised more than $1,700. At the June 25 event, customers were given beauty treatments like styling, hand massages, eyebrow waxing and skin and makeup consultations.

Local firefighters sold raffle tickets to raise money for OC Race for the Cure taking place at September 27 at Fashion Island. The prizes include dinner for six people at firehouse, gift baskets and gift certificates to restaurants, spas and country clubs.

Newport Beach City Councilwoman Leslie Daigle presented business awards to local Orange County based beauty vendors. They include Irvine-based Too Faced Cosmetics, skin care company AminoGenesis, bath and body manufacturer Archipelago, luxury candle company Voluspa, and hair-care companies Colure True Color Care and GHD or Good Hair Day.

Planet Beauty is at 3601 Jamboree Road in Newport Beach.
