Bleaching

Women interested in reducing the visibility of age spots frequently choose over-the counter treatments to bleach the affected skin. Many women find relief from an old-fashioned beauty fade cream. These treatments fade the discolorations, but subsequent sun exposure will result in reappearance of the age spots.

Hydroquinolone creams are successful in fading age spots in fair-skinned individuals. These creams should not be used by anyone with dark skin, as a darkening of the age spots may occur with usage.
